UAE to reduce prices of 115 pharmaceutical drugs

The UAE health ministry will on Sunday announce reduced prices of 115 pharmaceutical drugs.

The move is part of the ministry’s efforts with local and international drugs companies to activate societal partnerships and provide drugs for the UAE nationals and residents at reasonable prices.

Amin Al Amiri, assistant undersecretary for medical practices and licenses, said: “The step comes in the implementation of the coordination between the ministry of health and drugs companies to ensure the availability of drugs for all UAE residents. We also announce the approval of a new medical drug for the first time in the UAE and the region after Europe. The drug is for the treatment of diabetes and is to be used through a syringe once a week.”
